From the outside, Roxie looks like your average neighborhood corner liquor store. And it does sell the usual dairy and snack items, wine, beer, cigarettes, etc. But the big surprise here is the sandwich counter, from which issues forth big tasty ones, made to order. There are seven kinds of bread (choose from wheat roll, Spanish, Italian, sourdough roll, hard roll, brick oven hard roll, and the popular Dutch crunch), many cold cuts and cheeses, and other choices including Polish sausage, tuna, turkey club, and the classic BLT. All sandwiches can be served hot or cold. There are also a few special combinations, including the Roxie: ham, salami, mortadella, American and Swiss cheese, and marinated artichokes. The Roxie is nothing fancy, but it is solid - and inexpensive.
