Grab your partner, spin her ’round and ’round, all the way down to Davie's Round Up Country Western Club. This good-ol'-boy bar is a needle in a haystack off 595 in the back of a strip mall. But don't be fooled by the suburban-sprawl exterior; this place is all Texas heart on the inside. There's a wooden bar with beer signs and a few TVs, but you'll rarely see a soul sitting. The patrons are too busy showing off their spur-kickin' moves on the enormous dance floor. But don't fret if you haven't got the square-dancing moves down pat; during the week, Round Up offers free dance lessons. Wearing a ten-gallon hat and snakeskin boots is not a dress code requirement, but it's more fun if you do.

The name of the Nashville duo the LoCash Cowboys is not some clever combination or the members' names. Rather, it's a shortened manifesto of everything the band stands for. The group's straight-ahead country party anthems celebrate what they've... More »

You'll find gunslingers in cowboy boots and country girls in daisy dukes. Round Up's huge dance floor accommodates the regular twinkle toes and newcomers looking for a rollicking party. There's also a number of big-name country-friendly acts that stop... More »
The promise of free alcohol ain't what lures ladies to Round Up on Wednesday nights. That's just a marketing strategy to appeal to the male mind: "Hell, I'd go to any bar that lets me drink for free," he reasons. Rather, women flock here because this saloon has what women call an "activity": namely, line dancing. However sausage-heavy the male-female ratio may be in the bar's aggregate, you'll notice that the fenced-in dance floor is dominated by dames. Each is aware of how the line-dancing... More »
Votes: 166"It's not fancy or trendy or anything like that. But it's comfortable; the staff, bartenders, everyone is just very friendly and treats you well. And they don't charge an arm and a leg to go out with your buds and drink." -- AnonymousRunner-up: Kingshead Pub Sunrise, 13 votes More »
When a place is as far south of the Mason-Dixon Line as South Florida, its slow dancing should pack a little boot, scoot, and boogie. Round Up, which boasts one of the biggest dance floors in the county, is the perfect place for the city slicker set to cast off his Yankee rigidity and learn a whole new way to move across parquet. For the small price of a $5 cover fee, Round Up will teach you the basics of two-step and then turn you loose. Unlike many dance ballrooms that banish newbies to... More »
Two hundred folks, 20 cowboy hats. That's a ratio of ten-to-one, which is just about as country as Broward County gets. From the corralled-in dance floor packed with couples spinning together gracefully, circling the line dancers kicking their boots up together in time, to the tight-jean-clad groups of youngsters sinking shots on the pool tables, this is the stomping grounds of Davie. You can still hear Garth Brooks and the classics, but this is the spot where the heart of country hits a... More »
