Roseland plays host to classic-rock luminaries and popular, touring, modern-rock acts not quite ready for the arena. But, because it holds more than 3,000 people and has security goons and lines that rival those at MSG, youad better get there early or risk that the only thing youall see of your favorite band is the faint outline of the back of their heads as they leave the stage after their encore. When you enter the historic ballroom, be sure to check out the plaque that hangs in the entranceway listing the hundreds of couples in its 75-year history that met there and married. Thatas something youall never see at the Garden.

Almost a decade after Lil Jon taught the country to get crunk, what has happened to everyone’s favorite onomatopoeic Southern subgenre? On the one hand, it has returned to the underground, where producers like Mr. Collipark continue to craft innov... More >

The Dutch DJ made big moves toward Planet Pop this year, producing or co-producing monster hits by Chris Brown (“Look at Me Now”) and Pitbull (“Give Me Everything”). Given the latter’s concert at the same venue Thursday night and his appearance on... More >

What's that, you say? Petulant bleating, drop-D tunings, steamroller bass, and sinister album art are all long out of vogue? On forthcoming album The Path of Totality, Korn allows a corps of dubstep producers to lay figurative waste to their effor... More >

Six days in a row makes this the longest Roseland residency ever. And as much as we might have preferred that honor to have gone to Radiohead, in Deadmau5 we still get the more interesting of today's mouse-themed producers, electronic music's answ... More >

Never ones to give much of a heads-up before making a major move (surely you remember the out-of-the-blue In Rainbows announcement four years back), Radiohead announced this pair of Roseland Ballroom shows only last Monday, but tickets will have a... More >

Event Review: Pitbull | Thu, December 29, 2011

It was a short concert with no preshow acts, and with pitbull only singing two of his famous hits, rain on me and give me everything tonight. Never paid so much for a lame concert!
