Description

This ugly duckling of a storefront boasts two orange formica booths, Memphis-style spice-rubbed ribs, pressure-fried chicken, and some of the best barbecue sandwiches in town: They're made with pork shoulder smoked for so long it develops a nearly custard-soft texture and tastes like the ghost of fire and smoke made flesh. In this pocket of St. Paul, ugly ducklings don't grow up into beautiful swans; they mature into feisty, pork-slinging roosters. This rooster caters parties, as well.
