It was a beautiful day in the Golden Triangle neighborhood when Rooster & Moon moved in. This is a coffeehouse that takes care with its beverages, creating lovely designs in the foam as the barista pours milk into the espresso. But coffee isn't the only drink here; Rooster & Moon also has a full bar. The menu isn't as extensive, but what's available is choice: Mame's burritos, along with pastries, bagels, yogurt and fruit for breakfast; a modest list of sandwiches, salads and soups for later in the day. And then there's that decadent, housemade banana pudding. With free Wi-Fi, a casual atmosphere and a liquor license, Rooster & Moon is a great place for meetings -- but it's also a good spot to hang out alone. Welcome to the neighborhood.
You won't get cold coffee or the cold shoulder at Rooster & Moon. The staff at this coffee shop/bar will offer a single customer multiple greetings before he even reaches the counter. These baristas know the importance of politeness, and they'll never make you wait to order while they commiserate with each other -- or spill a story to you. Instead, they'll listen courteously as you ask which Allegro coffee beverage to try or which sandwich is the best -- we recommend the $5 Four... More »
Sorting through the city's java joints is a little like finding your foothold in a foreign city -- and like foreign cities, coffee shops are all about personality. Rooster and Moon mirrors ours: Buzzy, quirky, allegedly spooked by ghosts, artistic and community-driven, this charismatic spot celebrates our obsession with octane by pouring organic Allegro fuel that's always piping hot and served with a genuine smile by animated baristas who often stop at your table with a carafe of fresh... Love this place! Run by the nicest people, they have a kick-ass menu and a light, open ambiance -- perfect for meetings or to escape the office for a bit. I recommend the Orange Genius smoothie (although the Berry White is a close second) and any of the sandwiches. The goodies in the pastry case are irresistible.
Best iced mochas in Denver and their 1/2 sandwich and 1/2 salad is also the best lunch deal in all of Denver. Get the tuna wrap and berry avocado salad with the jalapeno honey vinaigrette.
My new favorite coffee shop!
