From the outside, it looks like your average neighborhood Italian joint, but what goes on inside this dark and intimate 28-seater is quite extraordinary. For one thing, there are no menus. Romeo comes by the table, inquires as to your likes and dislikes, and prepares a personalized menu accordingly. Dinners are composed of six courses, each featuring small portions of freshly and deliciously prepared northern Italian cuisine. A sample meal might include salmon carpaccio, Fontina ravioli with truffles and rosemary, grouper sautéed with wine and herbs, risotto with beef tenderloin, lamb chops in barolo wine sauce, and chocolate soufflé for dessert. At $80, it's a steal, and lunch, a three-course feast, goes for an unbelievably low price too. Service is stellar, and the ambiance as romantic as it gets. It's a great place to fall in love, and you will - if not with the person across the table, certainly with Romeo's.

For the past dozen years, Romeo Majano has been serving lunch and dinner in his cozy café. There is no set menu here. Romeo visits each table and quizzes customers about their tastes and preferences; then he composes a six-course dinner (or three-course lunch) accordingly. The charming Majano never fails to whip up delectable Northern Italian fare, whether it be cheese-stuffed agnolotti as light as angel wings or a seafood risotto made sultry with smoked mozzarella. The European-style... More »
His name is Romeo, and he'll be taking your reservation for this evening, and greeting you at the door, and introducing the cuisine, and preparing your prix-fixe six-course meal. So naturally the place would be called Romeo's Café, and the creatively prepared, exquisite northern Italian cuisine is a winner at this Coral Way eatery. The set menu is tweaked for diners' dietary preferences or restrictions, but otherwise you'll be happy to sit back and enjoy the Romeo culinary ride as... More »
