In the stockyard tradition, it's a good ol' country bar with a dance floor and stage offering live country music on weekends and a place to post up for a cold beer during the week. Tuesday and Wednesday nights, a crowd of regulars with a smattering of tourists comes for the free dance lessons (the shuffle and swing) and stay for the cheap beer. Exposed brick behind the bar, two pool tables and beer ads covering the walls make up a smaller version of the typical Texas honky-tonk, housing country stars from Toby Keith to Tanya Tucker since 1989.
Thinking of this bar always brings a smile to my face. Many memories and good times where had by myself and my best friends. Mike and Richard, who help either run the place or owned it..I never knew for certain, where great men who always treated the ladies like ladies.
