Whole lobster tails can be found in the lobster tacos here. Free salsa and chips can be found at the salsa bar. And yes, you can get sloshed with margaritas, you drunk bastard.
Two great pastimes come together (well, three if you count Mexican food—which we do) at Rockin' Baja Coastal Cantina every week. Enjoy food and drink specials while the game is on, and afterward, you can either proclaim victory or cry into the... More »
Best Baja Food in California!
Rockin’ Baja Coastal Cantina By Paulette Le Pore Motzko, August 2010 Rockin Baja Coastal Cantina at Bella Terra, Huntington Beach 7811 Edinger Ave # 110, Huntington Beach, CA 92647 » Map (714) 892-3852 We’re on the web at: http://www.Rockinbaja.com I would say that the best way to describe Rockin’ Baja Coastal Cantina is to say not only do they offer some of the best quality, fresh seafood that you will find in Southern CA, but it is a fun place to be. If the salsa bar was the only thing they offered, it is worth coming through their doors for the salsas alone! I went here three times before really venturing over to the salsa bar, then once I did, I was telling people all over how wonderful it was! They are so amazing and the flavors explode in your mouth with freshness. They inspired two dishes that I was creating in my head when I ate them for the first time. I am a Featured Publisher on Foodbuzz.com and created Curried Rice with Mango & Pineapple Salsa and also Southwestern Rice with Pinto Beans and Black Bean & Corn Salsa. They got rave reviews from my chef friends and peers on Foodbuzz.com. Overnight they went from 0 buzz to 95 out of 100! I have been maintaining Top 10 Food Writer in CA for several months now but it takes work and dedication and passion. Rockin’ Baja Coastal Cantina has the best Fish & Chips I have had in my life anywhere, hands down! They use a mix of wheat flour, corn flour, salt, pepper, salt, and lemon in the batter. The batter is light and the flavor is a pronounced lemon and Mahi Mahi is the fish of choice. What a combo that makes! What until you try it! The fries are seasoned with their unique blend of seasonings of: chili powder and other seasonings, but the combination of spices they use are not excessively salty but actually flavors the fries. I splurge now and then but I never eat all the fries at one sitting, so I simply take them home for later. You can also substitute something else in place of it, if you don’t want the French Fries too. From the giant mural on the wall done by Clayton Parker in 09 of the sea, seagulls and a red truck and a Woody and people living it up by the sea. I do not drink but they have a really popular and “happening” bar that is always busy with people watching the plasma TV’s all around the place. They have award winning margaritas and a full-service bar and though I don’t drink, I am sure you will find something you like here. I like iced tea with Tonrani Mango syrup in it or Peach syrup. It is something that I have been ordering when this restaurant was The Pomodoro. (I was a regular there and knew all the waitresses and the manager there too.) Another “must have” is their Lobster Corn Bisque. It has a rich and wonderful flavor, and that combined with some chips and salsas make for a light meal if you don’t want too much. That aside, I would say if you are having a birthday party, an anniversary, or are celebrating a special day, Rockin’ Baja is the place to go-if you love great seafood. Their Baja Buckets will please the best seafood gourmet. (My ex would have loved this place because you can get things I have only seen in Maryland.) Make sure and sign up for their email list because when your birthday comes around, you’ll get a really awesome coupon for a free dinner! I have one waiting for my birthday on August 31st for almost $20 worth. Try Rockin’ Baja and I know you’ll be hooked like all the fish in the sea that they catch for you to eat!
