Dominated by a comically large chandelier, this rough-hewn spot is furnished with junk-shop finds, and, though the rickety chairs aren't really very comfortable, you may find yourself lingering for a good long time soaking up the ambiance. The fare runs along a Franco-American axis, from a green salad topped with chicken livers, to a thick pork chop sided with mashed potatoes and spinach, to an amazing steak sandwich with chipotle mayo that may be the best thing on the menu. The wine list offers exemplary inexpensive bottles.
In Robin's case, we had a hard time choosing between two places, so we'll consign him to a progressive last meal at both.
