Roak on Kirby is place to be every weekend, as the party people have made Upper Kirby the new designated pretty people stomping grounds in Houston. Built inside what used to be a funeral home and featuring a swimming pool and a massive main room bathed in blue light, Roak is routinely packed to the gills with sports stars and girls who look like they should be dating said sports stars. All in all, it's a beautiful bar, and there is no scary death-vibe here, at least not when we were posted up there. Yes, the swimming pool does get used, and we can only imagine the shenanigans that will go down once summer comes back to Houston.
Roak is by far the nicest nightclub in Houston. So nice that it is also used for socialite events. Although the doormen may be strict, the service is great.
The only things I am reading on this wall is negative things about racism. Roak maintains a great looking crowd. If you want to complain about not being in you should go to the gym once an awhile or you should concentrate on making money and being successful.
The exclusivity is part of what makes Roak, Roak!
I highly recommend it - at least for the people who are worthy!
Roak on Kirby will soon be hosting a launch party called "Rendez-Vous with Riyad" on December 12, 2012. The patron Riyad Abu-Taha is the man behind this party and he is known to many females (mostly foreign) for soliciting sexual favors in the guise of false hope he gives to those girls from countries like Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Russia etc.
Roak on Kirby is run by racist owners and management: Jeff Barati and Andy Aweida. They are blatantly engaging in horrible acts of discrimination and even asking illicit sexual favors from the female patrons who they don't approve of getting an entry in their racist venue without sleeping with the doormen.
