Featured in the opening credits of The Sopranos and visible from the route that takes you to Newark airport, Rita and Joe's is an old-school Italian restaurant with an expansive menu of antipasti, pastas, veal, seafood, and chicken. Start your meal with an order of baked clams that don't resemble rubber, and progress to one of the baked pastas, such as the pork-sausage lasagna, mantled with tons of mozzarella at the last minute. The Ital-o-phile will seek out the Calabrian and Apulian stuff on the menu, including a really good beef bracciole stuffed with sausage, broccoli rabe, pine nuts, and raisins and deposited on a bed of rigatoni with one of Jersey's best marinaras.
