Description

Sleek with an earthy atmosphere solidified by a rock wall and wood, Rise No. 1 favors the Francophile with a nod to the slow food movement. There are soufflés aplenty, including escargot and Grand Marnier, a rotating cheese plate and surprises such as marshmallow soup. But soufflés are where owner Hedda Gioia Dowd and executive chef Cherif Brahmi stake their claim. The Inwood Village bistro welcomes all, even hosting birthday parties for the under-12 set that include cooking demonstrations and the chance to cook alongside the restaurant's chefs.
