This pioneering little enterprise shares space with Basil Doc's Pizza and buzzes each morning with toddler-toting moms, java guzzlers and bread heads who show up bright and early for the flaky, fresh-baked buttermilk biscuits -- warm in the center and delicious on their own or slathered with butter, jam or honey. Owner Seth Rubin always offers a biscuit of the day -- sage, bacon cheddar, Nutella and smoked Gouda, among others -- along with a biscuit-based sandwich menu for breakfast and lunch; cinnamon rolls with icing; and beer biscuits on Fridays. It's a perfect way to break your bagel boredom.
