Description

Jumping and jiving every night of the week, the Rhythm Room has long served as the Valley's best joint to catch performances from blues, jazz, and roots musicians. Since opening its doors in 1992, owner (and Valley blues guru) Bob Corritore has booked plenty of legends from those down-home genres over the years, including such venerated names as Pinetop Perkins, Sanford Clark, and the late Chico Chism. Rock acts are also a popular draw , including a wealth of local and touring indie acts that have been featured in recent years. Behind the bar (and behind the scenes) you'll find the always-cheerful manager Mona Lisa, who can not only pour you a stiff one, but also leave you in stitches with her tales of customers both famous or otherwise.

    It's so much more than blues, jazz and roots. I've seen and worked so many shows here that I've lost count. Eastern Conference Champions. Cursive. The Growlers. Blitzen Trapper. I saw Matthew Dear and Light Asylum here. While at that show I prayed that some blues heads dropped in, paid the cover and had their minds blown.
