Description

Ah, the beauty of the neighborhood sports bar, unadulterated by posh Brooklyn's yuppie leanings. Rhythm & Booze is a prime specimen, catering to an older, local crowd in unpretentious Windsor Terrace. Despite the kitschy name, game-day volume is jacked instead of some trendy music, and the bar always serves cheap drinks and, on Mondays and Wednesdays, 50 cent wings. In fact, Rhythm & Booze serves above average bar fare that's taken over the top with atypical flourishes. Consider the cleverly prepared hamburger: No, it’s no gourmet-gruyere affair, but rather an old-fashioned patty sandwiched into a grease-trap English muffin whose nooks cradle the juice and flavor. The bar, however, is relatively unadorned--brick walls, basic wood tables, a few posters/schedules, and one of those Internet jukeboxes. The people are what give Rhythm & Bar its color, and while vibe is due mostly to the neighborhood patrons, the bartenders are perfectly welcoming and even have a few finer brews on tap to satisfy the Park Slope runoff. Still, they all can pour a solid Guinness. --Alex Spoto

Technically, the burgers at Rhythm & Booze are not the best in town. But it's here that you can best enjoy a great burger in its natural habitat. Sit at the bar to watch a Mets game alongside Windsor Terrace old-timers, and open wide for a proper fat burger on a toasted English muffin, its crevices soaking up the burger drippings.
