Description

Revel, the new place in Fremont is the food-baby of culinary power couple Rachel Yang and Seif Chichri. They already have a loyal following due to three years of running Joule. Their approach to food at both Joule and Revel is pretty darned novel: Asian comfort dishes -- noodle pancakes and rice bowls, duck balls... yes, duck balls -- with classic French twists. The sweet new spot in Fremont is the more casual incarnation of its big sister.

Few restaurants this year have inspired as much food chatter as Revel, Fremont's glossy street-food venture from Joule's Rachel Yang and Seif Chirchi. The excitement is well-warranted: Revel's rice and noodle bowls, abounding with Korean seasoning, are wonderfully compelling, and the pancakes are the perfect canvas for the restaurant's smart set of bold sauces.
