Retox is a real Jekyll/Hyde kinda place: Upstairs it's a dark crimson lounge with soft benches, while downstairs lurks a small, cave-like basement venue that hosts (literally) underground rock bands and occasional DJs. By combining the classy cocktail vibe of the bar area with the grubbier, punkier realm below, Retox somehow manages to straddle the line between highbrow and lowbrow without going too far in either direction.
