This Korean barbecue restaurant puts out some wonderful Seoul food. Cook your own marinated meats - short ribs, beef tenderloin, pork, chicken - on a built-in table grill. If you prefer to let the kitchen do the work, try chap che, a stir-fried noodle dish, or dol sot bi bim bap, a mix of rice, beef, egg and veggies served in a sizzling stoneware vessel. Whatever you order, expect lots of garlic, lots of chile heat and lots of flavor.
Your quest for kimchee stops here. Tucked away in a Chandler strip mall, Takamatsu has been serving authentic Korean eats for more than a decade. Watch sweet marinated strips of bulgogi (barbecued beef), pork belly, or tongue cook right at your table or try something a little more challenging, like black goat soup or kimchee bokeum (highly recommended). No worries if you're a Korean food virgin; the staff will walk you through the menu and answer any and all questions. Each entrée is... More »
Our favorite Korean restaurant distinguishes itself in more ways than one. The food's amazing, of course, and the service is downright jovial -- we always feel welcome at this homey spot. Just as appealing is the atmosphere, which draws groups of Korean families and hungry businessmen alike. We're hooked on the wonderful smell of sizzling meat here, which gets our stomachs rumbling for juicy kalbi (beef short ribs), bulgogi (thinly sliced marinated beef), buttery pork belly, chicken,... The Korean formula for a good time suits us perfectly: a group of friends gathered around a tabletop grill, heaping plates of marinated meat to sizzle up as you like it, and plenty of ice-cold beer to go with it. That's living! And that's why we're crazy about Takamatsu, where Korean barbecue is the house specialty. Splurge on intensely flavorful bulgogi (thinly sliced beef), succulent kalbi (beef short ribs), scallops, spicy pork, or rib eye. There's also excellent dol sot bi bim bap (beef,... More »
There's something so nice about finding a great restaurant and sharing the news with your friends. And there's no better place to go with a hungry gang of your nearest and dearest than Takamatsu. Trust us: You'll need a lot of mouths to feed when you see how much food comes with a Korean barbecue feast at Takamatsu. From marinated bulgogi (thinly sliced beef) and boneless chicken to melt-in-your-mouth kalbi (marinated beef short ribs), it's a meat lover's fantasy come true. The best way to... More »
There's something so nice about finding a great restaurant and sharing the news with your friends. The best way to experience it is at a table with a built-in grill, where you can cook it all up yourself (with helpful waitstaff standing by, of course). While you're at it, try the crispy haemul pa jeon (seafood and scallion pancake), a pizza-size treat served with sesame-soy dip. There's an expansive sushi menu, too, as well as Japanese and Korean noodle dishes, soups, and other entrees to make your belly happy. At Takamatsu, the more, the merrier.
I love Sushi and I love trying new places, and this is one of my favorite places around for Sushi! The service is great, the food is great so that means I'll definitely be back soon and I'll be bringing my friends!
cool place they make the food in front of you and ask for the cho-cho train...
