Cool sushi bar/restaurant serving Japanese and Korean food. The sushi, especially the nigiri sushi, is of pretty high quality, and Takamatsu also offers Korean table barbecue. But the menu is extensive, and this may be your chance to venture into realms of Korean cookery that you've yet to explore. A little intestine casserole, anyone? Or raw blue crab marinated in chili paste? Actually, our fave is slightly less exotic: stir-fried kimchi and pork slices. When the kimchi is warm, having been prepared with oil, it slides down your throat like spicy butter. Yum!
I absolutely love the set-up of this restaurant. The sushi here is pretty good. The Udon(noodle) soups are fantastic. With every meal, they bring out little side dishes. Check this place out!
I love SUSHI. This place made me love it even more! Their all you can eat sushi price is phenomenal, and mix that with a few saki bombers.... great night!!
If you like korean food its ok but very pricey.Try the one behind target on 43 ave and Peoria by great skate food much better and not as pricey. But if your lookin for good service its not there nice people but slow

Korean barbecue is just the sort of ethnic food more Americans would love if they tried it. That's because the Koreans love charred meat, just like we do. So when you visit a Korean restaurant like Takamatsu, you not only have a variety of sushi, casseroles, kimchi, and even more exotic fare to choose from, there are also all kinds of marinated beef and pork, which you can grill up on the nifty gas grill built into your table. Eat it up with the half-dozen or more condiments that come with... More »
Takamatsu means "tall pines" in Japanese, which may be the reason this west-side eatery boasts a façade of blond plank wood. The use of Japanese for its moniker is a hint that the place has a killer sushi bar, and that'd be reason enough to dine there. But Takamatsu also offers the most reliable Korean barbecue in the Valley, with plenty of grills set into the tables, and steel chimneys overhead. It's a clean, pleasant place to eat, with speedy, efficient service, which may be the... More »
Folks call and write me with some amazing requests. Usually, I do my best to reply in a timely manner, but occasionally, the inquiries veer into the asinine zone, in which case, I may never respond. For example, if you're a PR flack who wonders... More »
