This popular Uptown watering hole has made great efforts to set itself apart from its shinier neighbors, serving as the only Uptown bar to host sets from the area's top bands. To be safe, Renfield's has installed a sprawling beer garden away from all the noise, and even in the heat of the summer, the patio-a comfortable place to order from the bar's extensive menu of imported brews-is filled with young business types there for after-work drinks. The dark interior, which is set up like an old Irish pub, has wood-covered walls and vintage sconces.
