At Reel Inn Fresh Fish Restaurant in Malibu, you'll be smiling before you even get inside. There's the punny name, the surfside location, and the unmistakable waft of freshly battered and fried fish just beyond the door. Inside, you'll find planks of sanded wood that stand in for tables, and the sort of stiff bench seating that makes you start squirming to get back out to the sunshine after about 30 minutes. You'll also find a large array of fresh-fish options to be grilled up or fried to your preference, from locally-caught ahi tuna to sea bass and live Maine lobsters.There are tacos and shrimp quesadillas on the menu for the kids and a few designated chicken dishes for the seafood-averse, but this is a classic beach seafood shanty with slow-moving ceiling fans and stompable wood floors. If you feel like taking a look at the menu, don't be surprised to find names like "A Clockwork Orange Roughy" or "Lady Chatterley's Lobster"; they're just another reason to smile.
