Description

Rick Bayless, the famous Chicago name behind this swanky, often-packed Mexican restaurant, created the menu. Its rooms are divided by garage-style doors, and it has a retractable skylight, tequila lounge and long bar, a wall of antique bells, a vast communal table - and wall art resembling box springs. Favorites include the goat cheese tamales and pork belly sopes.

The exterior belies what's inside: you'll feel like you're at a resort in Mexico. They do some seriously fun things with tequila and vodka (try the former in a spicy margarita with a chili pepper finish, the latter with basil and black pepper). The guacamole and short rib sopes are a must. Reservations definitely required but not difficult to get on the earlier side on a weeknight.
