Description

Now in its 60s, Ray's has become such a cliché of Seattle delights, it's almost impossible to believe it could also be good. Just taste the smoked Columbia River Coho salmon and grilled Chatham Strait sablefish in sake lees. The stuff surrounding the actual seafood-the salads, the side dishes, the sauces-varies in quality from ho-hum to delightful, but the meat itself is all finesse. The cafe gives you the same view as the boathouse without the luxury tax. Casual and airy, it is banked by stone fireplaces for the winter and rimmed by a deck for the summer from which you can toss fries at feisty seagulls.

And, by gum, the vi... More »
