Who wants sushi? This one’s going to be a short one partly because I'm still hung-over from last night and partly because most of last night is just one big blur. It was celebration time for the FatCats crew as a lot of good happened yesterday. Congrats to Hi Volume whose sister finally got to go home from the hospital. The Pudge signed a contract for a new job and I finally completed my effing Critical Care Paramedic Class (woot!). Anyways so as stated we had a reason for merriment and a hankering for sushi. So we decided to head over to the South Miami area and visit RA Sushi. I LOVE THIS PLACE! They have one of the best happy hours (3pm-7pm Mon-Sat) that I've been to in a long time. One of my fav's is that 6 bucks gets you a ceramic vase (not sure what they are called) and a 22oz bottle of Kirrin Beer which leaves you with one helluva Saki Bomb. The food is great and I highly recommend what I believe is called the Viva Las Vegas roll. Check this bad boy out... The Pudge who hates sushi and 99% of the seafood out there was feeling adventurous and decided to order himself a plate of some special seasoned breaded shrimp... Surprisingly he liked it so much, he ended up ordering a second plate. The food is pretty good, it’s definitely not your average plain Jane sushi, and they like to spice it up with different blends of seasonings. However the one thing I didn't like was this scariness which I believe was called tuna tartar... It had a weird consistency and was just over seasoned. Everything was great and our waiter named Mike provided great service especially seeing how packed it got this night. We had a great time; the atmosphere was nice with a younger crowd with an average age range of mid 20's to early 30s. Most were well dressed and it seemed like a nice clean cut crowd. It's definitely a good place to take a date as it wasn't too noisy and the menu had a lot to offer. Overall I give RA Sushi the Official Fat Cats Happy Belly Seal of Approval I'd also like to thank the hiring manager who did a wonderful job of hiring a hot female staff.
