Quixotes is a tribute to both Jerry Garcia and Miguel de Cervantes' character. And just as both of those figures found the magical in the everyday, Quixotes True Blue does as well. Primarily a music venue that specializes in groups inspired by the Grateful Dead, it doesn't believe in limiting its entertainment, and so has hosted countless bands and DJs. While the crowds will change depending on the show, the venue will always be the same, offbeat but never off-putting.
The Man in Black is gone from 13th Avenue. So is Bender's, replaced by Jerry Garcia (albeit a defaced Deadhead) and Quixote's True Blue, which opened on Thursday in its new home. And what's the moral... More »
To mark the transition of the former Bender's space to the new home of Quixote's True Blue, which opens tonight, the Johnny Cash mural on the eastern wall was replaced with one of Jerry Garcia -- whic... More »
With the exception of perhaps Tim Tebow or the recent election, few things around here have been as polarizing as the mural saga at 314 E. 13th Avenue, the former home of Bender's Tavern and the new... More »

This place is overrated as it gets. Quixotes is a popularity contest for hippies. The longer your dreads the cooler you are. A bunch of broke hippies trying to suck up to the owners for a free drink. I love the Dead but man Does Quixotes give them a bad name.
Event Review: Big Paddy
Big Paddy is Celtic rock with some funky grooves. Passionate vocals and dazzling instrumental work make this Colorado act a must-see!
Nice and convenient venue in Denver. Great out-door patio, well-made drinks at an affordable price, and good live music
Come spring and summer, the back patio of Quixote's True Blue fills with the odors of hippie food on the stove, a few cigs and stogies, and often the sweet, skunky smell of other burning materials -- not that anyone is condoning anything here. Snag a seat at the picnic table, where you can enjoy a post-Rockies beer or boogie your butt off in front of the outdoor stage featuring a Grateful Dead bluegrass cover band. Either way, we guarantee you'll get high...on life. More »
