See, Pumphouse creamery is the labor of love of Barb Zapzalka, who grew up as one of ten kids on a Little Falls, Minnesota farm, and decided, after a career downtown, that what the big city really needed was farm-fresh ice-cream from family-farm cows. So she opened Pumphouse, named for the first thing you'd see when you entered her family's farm, and now new generations of kids can know what it's like to have fresh ice-cream from organically raised, Wisconsin cows. Take your little one for some rich Oatmeal-Cookie Malted Vanilla, and ask yourself: How are you going to keep them down in the city once they've tasted farm life?
