The latest of chef and restaurateur Aaron May’s string of restaurant concepts, this casual, yet sophisticated modern American beer café in Old Town Scottsdale features a carefully crafted selection of around sixty kinds of suds and a hit-or-miss menu of approachable and constantly changing fare. Grab a cold one and start with a tasty, shareable snack of crispy potato cubes tossed with a truffle aioli, then move on to the stellar Praying Monk gourmet burger or the tender and well-seasoned slow-cooked short rib. Low lights and a setting of worn brick, reclaimed wood, and leatherette booths make the beer sippin’ all the more satisfying.

Very well put together beer list.. And the food is outstanding.
We're not going to get into an ethics debate about foie gras, but we will say that we're happy that it's not banned in the Valley of the Sun. If the French duck liver treat couldn't make its way into our cactus-studded desert, then we wouldn't have culinary gems like the one found at Aaron May's newest Old Town Scottsdale eatery, The Praying Monk. On the appetizer side of the industrial chic spot's menu, you'll find a curious dish that incorporates peanut butter with its usual sidekick jelly... More »
