"Powerful You!" 

Maybe health consciousness has finally gone too far. "Powerful You!" is a new interactive exhibit presented by Broward Health that opens Friday at the Museum of Discovery and Science (401 SW Second St., Fort Lauderdale). It’s aimed at teaching families about the complex biological machine that is the human body, including its eventual breakdown and decay. Maybe you’d like your little ones to experience the highs and lows of drunk driving by taking a turn in the Powerful Team DUI simulator. The munchkins will never ask for French fries again after experiencing Powerful Pulse, in which they’ll learn all about heart disease and how to treat and prevent it.

The permanent exhibit can be seen during regular museum hours, Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m. Museum admission is $16 for adults, $15 for seniors, $12 for children 2 to 12. Call 954-467-6637, or visit mods.org. — By Rebecca Dittmar
