Description

Elegant little spot, perfect for a nosh, din-din or lunch while in the downtown area. Entrees include grilled ostrich, blue marlin with braised fennel, chicken lasagna, and so on. As far as appetizers are concerned, the crab cakes go well with a draft beer. Ditto the scallops. But what we really like to do at Portland's is drink. The bar offers an engaging ambiance, well-suited to a date or just a friendly quaff amongst buds. And there's a lovely list of New World wines and fine spirits to choose from. Overall, a classy joint. Wish we lived in the lofts right behind it.

This place has been right in my backyard for almost a year and I finally got around to trying it this weekend and I am hitting myself for not trying it sooner. This place is great. My Alfredo Burger was delicious and the cajun and parmesan fries were both terrific. Prices for the full entrees is a little steep, but the burgers and salads are pretty reasonable.
