Description
Located in the ultra-swank Ivy Hotel near the Minneapolis convention center, Porter & Frye feels as luxurious as a caviar facial, yet as grounded as its surroundings (it's tucked into the historic Ivy Tower, a tiny-castle-like 1930s landmark). There's a hip bar and dining area on the first floor, and a main dining room below with plenty of curvy privacy booths, including the most important-looking of Very Important Person tables in the city. The menu has downscaled since the restaurant's opening, now featuring such classics as shrimp cocktail, beef tenderloin, and leg of lamb.
