Even though everything on the menu is vegan, mother-daughter chef duo Marlene and Cassie Tolman don’t advertise their cheery all-day breakfast and lunch eatery in Ahwatukee as a vegan restaurant — nor should they. The emphasis here is nourishing, flavor-packed food and drinks using fresh ingredients; from colorful, vibrant dishes (think sandwiches, salads, and bowls) made with a harmony of fresh vegetables and grains, to fruit-packed smoothies and veggie juices, to a bakery case stocked with homemade pastries. Make sure to check the specials board for the day’s tasty home made soup, quesadilla, or featured veggie burger creation like the highly satisfying mushroom, black bean, and sundried tomato with a creamy basil spread. Very lucky to live only only a mile or so from Pomegranate Cafe, Outstanding food...friendly service...yummm! The Lumberjack makes a fabulous breakfast, and the BLT (yes with tempeh bacon) is outstanding. Don't forget their selection of desserts...vegan? Yes. Delicious? Yes!
