Description

This Yucataecan restaurant's namesake is an inviting platter of thin-sliced pork, simultaneously crispy and chewy, draped around a mound of lightly dressed cabbage and a steaming pile of buttery rice, a signature Mayan dish: Poc Chuc. The appetizers at this Latin American and Mexican restaurant are all worthy warm-ups for the porky onslaught, especially the panuchos (slightly crunchy tortillas layered with shredded turkey, black beans, avocado, and pickled onions), empanadas, and tostadas. A bonus: Mexican cowboy flicks play on the little TV above the doorway at this Mission District restaurant.
