Its name stands for "Please Don't Tell," but by now there aren't too many people who don't know about the secret speakeasy in the back of East Village hot dog joint Crif Dogs. Look for the well-dressed couples stumbling out of the phone booth; that's where the secret entrance is hidden. The bar is a tight fit, which is why you should probably make reservations to get a seat. The look is sleek and sexy, with a bottom-lit bar that illuminates your $12 drink and the entire low-ceilinged, brick-walled room, decorated sparingly with a few taxidermied animals. Mixology master Jim Meehan dreamed up the roster of specialty cocktails, all made with fresh, seasonal fruit juices, artisan liquors, homemade bitters and other high-quality ingredients. One of the best things about PDT is the ability to mix high-end cocktails with, say, a deep-fried hot dog with cream cheese or an order of tater tots.—Keith Wagstaff

I love PDT. You go need to call and ask for a table, and then you go through Crif Dogs, and take a left into the telephone booth, and then go through the telephone booth into the bar. And it's serious mixology going on in here.
The bathroom of mirrors stands out in my mind. Oh, and the entrance is in a hot dog place.
A nice, relaxed, loungey bar with a secret entrance. They're pretty strict with the max occupancy so it can be tough to get in but can be a great spot if you plan it.
