Phoenix New Times's Description
Say what you will about Whole Foods Market and its prices, but once inside, itâs hard to resist this gourmet grocery chainâs charm. Not only does it stock specialty goods from artisan crafters throughout the country and globe, but it also supports locally produced foods and other goods. You can stop by just to pick up a hot, fresh meal like curry, Korean BBQ, sliced brisket sandwiches, pizza, and burgers. Whole Foods also has bulk dry goods, high quality fresh produce, a full-service meat and seafood counter, and a bakery that offers breads, cakes, pies, cookies, and muffins made with cage-free eggs, natural butters, and unbleached flour. Hop heads canât get enough of the marketâs bottled beer selection, and the locations in Tempe, Scottsdale, Raintree, and Paradise Valley are some of our favorite places to fill up a growler; any draft beer (except the stuff on nitro taps) is $4. If youâd rather stick around and sip your sudsy pint, the Chandler store has its own bar, the Watering Hole, with 31 taps, happy hour deals, and beer classes every Friday.

Quel fromage! We had to do a double-take the first time we stumbled into Whole Foods' cheese department, where the variety of fine artisanal cheeses cow's milk, goat's milk, sheep's milk, you name it just boggles the mind. From soft, tiny rounds of fresh chèvre and wedges of aged Gouda to slabs of creamy, pungent Époisses de Bourgogne, there's almost anything we could conjure up in our wildest cheese fantasies (and it doesn't hurt that the lavish displays are so appealing that they verge on food porn). Sniff around (literally and figuratively) and you'll be surprised by the novelties you'll find. There are usually samples to nibble on as you peruse the offerings, and if you'd like a taste of something before you splurge on a pricey chunk of it, the genial staff will be eager to let you try it. Trust us, this is one place where you can feel proud to be cheesy.

While you're here, you may as well pick me up a birthday gift. And if you do that, you'll have to come to my birthday show! Go to http://ellentv.com/birthdaytix/ & enter code ELLEN54 to win tickets!
Better selection of to-go foods, flowers and produce than Whole Foods Scottsdale.
I'm not sure what's more delicious; their fresh deli sandwiches or the fine cashier I always see :-p
