Phoenix New Times' Description

The Grind serves up a compact menu of burgers and other dishes cooked in unique coal-fired ovens. From the mouthwatering sweet and spicy burger, topper with combination of candied jalapenos and fried ratatouille, pungent roasted garlic aioli, and a heap of fresh watercress, to a peppercorn-crusted version, there is plenty to satisfy carnivores, although there are a few meat-free treats as well, including a hefty portobello burger, salads, roasted vegetables, and sweet potato fritters. Snug booths, sexy lighting, and a long, gleaming bar make it an inviting watering hole.

Good Place to get beer and burgers. The burgers are a bit salty but really good!

Seriously. Choose a date on your calendar today and go here. Their candied jalapeno burgers are massively tall and the most delicious burgers I've ever had. Sweet potato fries are phenomenal. They also have this dessert that consists of small donuts, powdered sugar and caramel. If you have the extra few bucks and you're still hungry I highly recommend that as well.

The organic Steak House BLT, Sweet and Spicy, and Peppercorn Crust burgers are cooked in specially made coal-fired 1,000-degree ovens, then topped with locally grown veggies.

Salad lovers will flip over the smoky grilled romaine salad. For dessert, indulge in miniature fried donut rings with warm butterscotch dipping sauce. Named a 2010 Best New Restaurant.

2010 Best of Phoenix Winner: Best Burger! Using premium, hormone-free meat, organic ingredients & sizzling the burgers in a special coal-fired oven, dressing them up with delicious, creative toppings.

Start with root beer on tap. The Peppercorn Hamburger is unreal, and save room for the mini donuts and/or bread pudding.

    - Be sure to try the Sweet & Spicy Burger. It's one hell of a burger with epic flavors!
