Maria's Mexican Food
Gilbert, AZ 85206
Phoenix New Times's Description
Most Phoenix suburbs are overwhelmed by chain restaurants, but Gilbert is a different story. If you’re in the area, pass right by the all-too-familiar Mexican grill and support independent restaurant Maria’s Mexican Food. It’s not principle alone that will bring you back in the door time and time again. Once you taste menu items like the amazing California burrito – steak and potatoes wrapped up with mouthwatering pico de gallo and cheese – you’ll be hooked. In fact, all of the burritos are fan favorites, and we recommend starting your day off with a breakfast version filled with sausage, egg, cheese, and beans. Regardless of what you order, top it off with the fresh guacamole to take it to the next level. This might be a neighborhood hole in the wall located in a plain ol’ strip mall, but it makes up for its bare appearance with the rich flavors of its caldo de res, sopes, and Jamaica.
