Description

Phoenix New Times' Description

Ribs: Think of them as meat lollipops thick with tangy barbecue sauce, tender from being lovingly slow-smoked over pecan logs, and served up with mac 'n' cheese, sweet corn, coleslaw, and/or any of a number of other sides. At least, that's how you'll be chowin' down on Porky Pig at Joe's, unless you prefer your hog flesh pulled, or as ham or hot links. And if you're not fine with the swine, Joe's has beef brisket, chicken and turkey breast, too. Set in a large, historic building with a restored 1948 John Deere tractor and a mural commemorating Gilbert's agricultural heritage. Great for family outings.

One of my favorite things about joe's is the red cream soda! I don't know why it being red makes it better...but it does! The food is also great, fun country-like atmosphere right in the middle of downtown Gilbert

2010 Best of Phoenix Winner: Best Pulled Pork! Scrumptious impeccable pulled pork. Heady with the aroma of pecan smoke, and beyond tender from a low-and-slow cooking technique.

If you love rootbeer you must try their homemade rootbeer. It's delicious.

  • Gregory L. on 11/11/09

try the pulled pork - sweet, smoky, and tender.

  • Paul S. on 09/15/11

The stuffed potatoes are not to be forgotten. Filling by themselves. But you can add meat toppings.

  • Joe J. on 09/06/11

My favorites: turkey sandwich (jumbo), beans and/or cole slaw, arnold palmer. Use all of the condiments, especially the onion relish and the regular BBQ sauce.
