Description

The future of this longtime Alki Beach fixture was thrown into doubt in August 2009 after the sudden death of sweet, avuncular proprietor Hussein Khazaal, but his family, led by son William, has carried on. A menu featuring Lebanese and Mediterranean cuisine has been remade into one focusing on small plates and wood-fired artisanal pizzas, emphasizing local and sustainable sourcing. The renovated space, featuring a wine bar, is darker and more intimate, but there are two constants: the high quality of the food and the warmth and affability of Phoenicia's staff.
