Description

As the name would suggest, pho is the house specialty at this budget-friendly neighborhood spot, with quite a few different variations. But because there are more than 160 items on the menu, it's worth it to branch out. We're especially fond of do-it-yourself dishes like shrimp paste grilled on sugarcane, which come with fixins to make your own summer rolls, and raw beef tenderloin that you sizzle on a tabletop grill. You won't need a huge wallet full of cash to feast at at Pho Thanh, just a lot of hungry friends.

Pho Thanh Takes Over for Pho Bang

    | Thu, May 20, 2010

I mourned the loss of Pho Bang restaurant even before it closed last year. For many years, the longstanding Vietnamese eatery at Camelback and 17th Avenue was my go-to place (in that part of the Valley, anyway) for a steaming, soul-satisfying bow... More »
