Peppe Salvitti was born in Napoli, Italy, and now he's making pizzas at this unassuming, closet-sized space behind the entrance to the R train. It's a great pizza place that remains so undiscovered that it's practically undercover. The grandma pie is a thing of beauty-a fat, yeasty-crusted square, crisp and chewy, slathered with delicious tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, Parmesan, fresh garlic, and basil. The thin-crusted margherita is also very good, as is the namesake peppe pizza, adorned with prosciutto and arugula.
