Named after a Boston-area blacksmith from the late 1800s, Patrick Carroll's was started by one of his descendants in 2005. This Berkeley neighborhood watering hole is an updated take on the traditional Irish pub, one of the few in the area. While the cozy, inviting spot brings in a decent lunch crowd, it also attracts a wide variety of folks in the evening who come to drink well-poured pints of Guinness or chow down on appetizers, fish and chips or burgers. They have awesome bar food especially if you are a little hungover! I would recommend a Stella on tap, chicken fingers and jalapeno poppers!
