There is a good bit of history preserved in Denton’s upper-room Paschall Bar. The five members of the band Midlake, who own the Paschall, have a penchant for Denton history. The place is named after the building’s original builder and owner B.F. Paschall, who’s pictured in a photograph on display as you traverse the stairwell up to the bar that occupies the space above Andy’s Bar. The bar is divided into two parts. One room is styled after an old pub, complete with a massive dark wood bookcase constructed by members of the band. The other room, which is divided by an overarching wooden threshold also built by the band, has a mid-century Danish modern style complete with low profile furniture and dim, amber lighting.

Denton's University of North Texas campus releases thousands of graduates into the real world each year. It's expected that they'll take their education and move away to another, bigger city.
