Description

Park Tavern successfully occupies the same space, physically and notionally, as Moose's, the tavern it replaces. The North Beach restaurant, its expanses tamed with handsome blacks and grays, its leather banquettes studded, and its tables topped in marble, is a hangout for the financially blessed. Owners Anna Weinberg and Jennifer Puccio give their target market exactly what they want: stiff cocktails, strong food, and a few winks -- smoked deviled eggs, birthday cakes for dessert -- to remind them to enjoy themselves. The restaurateurs have imported over their signature burger and brussels sprout chips from their first restaurant, Marlowe, and added to the American menu more ambitious fare like seafood tartares and a chile-rubbed “poulet rouge” roasted to order.
