A casual, spacious Indian restaurant, Palace Indian offers all the Indian dishes you've heard of and then some. The variety of vegetarian and nonvegetarian options ($10 to $15) includes butter chicken and chicken tikka masala as well as a variety of biryianis (rice dishes). Vegetarians may want to try the bhindi do piazza (fresh okra lightly spiced and sautéed with sliced onions and tomatoes) or the punjabi chana masal (slow-simmered chickpeas prepared with pomegranate seeds, onions, and tomatoes.) Dessert includes ras malai (sweet ricotta cheese-like dumplings flavored with rosewater and cardamom) and vermicelli kheer (angel-hair pasta seasoned with cardamom and cooked with milk and sugar).
