Billing itself as a "high-energy Irish pub," Paddy McGee's arrived in downtown Delray Beach planning to attract the party crowd. Decorated with the "doors of Dublin" -- each front door set on the wall is a different vivid color -- a fireplace and brick walls, it's a modern take on pub style. TVs pepper the bar, so guests can catch a game. Fare is a mix of American bar foods like nachos, wings, shrimp cocktail, potato skins, and burgers, mixed with Irish classics -- fish and chips, beef and barley soup, shepherd's pie, Irish (Guinness) stew, bangers and mash, and roast beef with Yorkshire pudding (maybe leaning toward England there). Servers are corseted lassies in short-short skirts and boots -- parents of tots might want to consider this. The beer list outshines the foods with 27 beers and 18 on draft, many of them oddities. Live music entertains certain nights; promotions are held weekly.
