Blocks removed geographically yet miles removed attitudinally from the Fremont meat market, the dinky Pacific Inn has long embodied the classic Northwest tavern: clean, small, and simply appointed, with a good jukebox, dynamic beer selection, and great fish and chips. While it's added a small deck and hard booze to its arsenal and the crowd is no longer dominated by bearded men in rubber coveralls, the Pac-Inn refuses to cave to the whims of a neighborhood and city drunk on San Franciscan aspirations.
