I haven't eaten much steak this summer because I'm usually broke. When I discovered Ozzie's Wednesday steak dinner special ($9.95 includes 12-ounce New York steak, baked potato, salad, and garlic toast), you bet your ass I was there. I slipped into a corner booth around 6:30 p.m. (the special runs from 4 to 8 p.m.) and didn't wait long before a friendly waitress showed up. I looked at the cover of the menu and handed it back to her. I think she knew what I was ordering. Bar food can get a bad rap, and with the deal price, my expectations were low. The steak came loaded with seasoning and was cooked to the perfect pink-gray of "medium-well." It was good enough (and the drinks were cheap enough) that my Ozzie's stamina was sapped long before I could partake in a round of karaoke, the nightly offering the lower Queen Anne joint is known for. (R.I.P. Scary-oke, their brand of blind karaoke where the song is chosen for you, which died two weeks before my arrival.) I got my steak fix, now I need to go back to satisfy my karaoke jones.
