Owner Herb Newman hails from Miami, which means he knows a thing or two about drinking and fresh fish. As a result, you'll find oysters on the half-shell and all manner of fried delights pouring out of the diminutive kitchen until late in the evening, while chatty bartenders make friends with the clientele along the expansive formica-topped bar. And sure, you could make the bartender reach for the top-shelf whiskey, but it's more fun to slum it at Oyster House Saloon. With a cheap draught beer or well low-priced well drink in your hand, you may start to think the nightly band sounds better than it does. And if the guitar echoing off the wood paneling gets to be too much for you, the sparse back patio offers a little bit of seating and the chance to remember how exactly you ended up drinking at a seafood restaurant in Studio City in the first place.
