Nestled in a beautifully redone little teal house on a street speckled with potholes, this appropriately named café has a sublime, art-adorned interior filled with plush couches and comfy seats. There's a groovy, SoBe-style outdoor patio often decorated with fresh flowers. The eatery's pastel exterior sticks out like a delicate bud of gentrification in this somewhat grungy neighborhood. Who needs Starbucks when this homegrown gem has the chain beat? Out of the Blue serves great coffee, flaky pastries, Belgian waffles, signature cereals (organic oatmeal and granola), tasty sandwiches on fresh baguettes, crisp salads, fruit smoothies, and homemade soups. Hell, there's even wine and free wi-fi. Try the Paramount panini ($8.75) - featuring grilled chicken, marinated artichokes, roasted red peppers, jalapeños, and a balsamic reduction - with a bag of heavenly Dirty brand potato chips. Create your own omelet, or better yet, make a salad using a checklist of items (along with golf pencils) provided at each table; choose from items such as aged cheddar cheese, napa cabbage, chickpeas, walnuts, hardboiled eggs, seared tuna, and a plethora of dressings. And if that isn't enough, hit up Sunday brunch from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. ($19.95). Did we mention karaoke (Thursdays at 9 p.m.)? This place is truly a bohemian rhapsody.
