OC Weekly's Description
Small though it is, Kappo Suzumaru is really two restaurants-a fast-paced sushi bar with comforting (California) and confounding (fermented soy bean?) rolls, and a leisurely main dining room separated by paper lanterns and banners stitched with slogans in katakana and kanji script. At some point, get the ochazuke: rice plum soup that's hearty but viciously tart-something that will comfort and enthrall you the rest of the day.
Tips from foursquare
Try their agadashi (fried) tofu. Best I've had in these parts.
They gave me frozen massage in my sushi!!!!! :(
I haven't tried their sushi bar yet, but clientele is unexpectedly Japanese! Homey foods were tasty. I got to try sushi!
Try the homemade tofu. Very unique and tasty!
Homemade Tofu is delicious! Only served during dinner and everyone should get their own =)
